#43, Shiver

*43* Read 100 books (5/100)
Stolen, The Lovely Bones, Dime Store Magic, Industrial Magic, Shiver

I want – no i need – to talk about this book. So I feel like this will be a review? Possibly? Okay, here goes…

Six years ago, Grace was brutally attacked by the pack of wolves that resides in the woods that frame her backyard. Six years ago she first saw those oddly human yellow eyes behind that wolf’s face that saved her from drowning in the snow and blood. Six years ago began the ritual of her heart: Summer without, Winter with, her yellow-eyed wolf. What happens when everything you know comes crashing down and welling up inside of you? You fall in love, of course. So is the story of wolf turned human, fighting to stay human, falling in love, Sam. Together, Sam and Grace gently weave a love story so epic yet so gentle, i felt like i was intruding yet drawn comfortably in. I applaud Maggie Steifvater for her poetic blend of color and smell that makes this more than a book. My heart is aching for the sequel in June.
