Chains of Sin

i’ve been thinking for the past few months about Christ’s sacrifice.

He came and died, and rose again, defeating death.

He broke all the chains of sin that hold us down

hold us back

hold us away from God

I’ve come to the realization that not only did He break those chains and I am no longer bound to the punishment of sin (death), but I am no longer held down by the feelings of sin (guilt)

Today I realized that I am no longer held down by the chains of other people’s sin.

By that I mean, we as Christians are very VERY good at seeing other people’s sin. We can name everything they do wrong, and counteract it with 5 different Bible verses before they have a breath to speak.

What if we treated their sin like we treat our own?

What if we treated their sin like God treats it?

Because of Christ’s blood, I am no longer confined by other people’s sin.

Because of Christ’s blood, I am no longer in need of judging them.

THERE IS NO NEED!

Because of Christ.

I think if we can all grasp this concept, that our judgement is a direct result of not trusting Christ’s blood…

it leaves us free to love them.
